Journalling

Your Journey to Wellness Begins Here

At Uluwatu Surf & Yoga Retreats, wellness runs alongside the surfing and yoga: reflective personal-growth discussions and journaling, a sound dome sauna, nourishing organic food, and massage therapies, each built to support body and mind.

A typical day moves from early yoga or surfing into wellness activities and good food, winding down with recovery and a massage. It is built to be a genuine reset, not just a holiday.

Personal growth discussions

Guided group discussions sit at the heart of the wellness side of the retreat, and are one of the things guests tend to take the most from.

Led by our retreat leader, these sessions work through ideas like Ikigai, The Four Agreements, and the Four Key Mindsets.

They are designed to help you explore your own thoughts and goals, and build a clearer sense of yourself and where you are heading.

Journaling

Journaling is a core part of the week: a chance for self-reflection that supports happiness, calm and resilience. See the benefits of journaling for more on why it works.

The sessions give you a quiet, settled space to connect with your own thoughts and map out what matters to you.

Paired with the group discussions, journaling tends to be where a lot of the week’s self-awareness and lasting change comes from.

Sauna, ice bath and recovery

Recovery is built into the week, with new on-site sauna and ice bath facilities, plus a weekly visit to a cliffside spa and sound dome sauna.

Alternating heat and cold supports recovery and eases tension, while the sound dome adds a deeply relaxing element to the session. You can read more about how heat and ice support recovery.

Massage

Our Balinese massage therapist is on site to help you unwind and recover between surf and yoga sessions.

There is a good range to choose from, including Balinese, hot stone, deep tissue, Thai, shiatsu, lymphatic, Lomi Lomi and Turkish massage, whether you are after deep relaxation or easing the muscular strain of surfing.

One massage is included in your retreat, with additional treatments available during your stay.

Food and Ayurveda

Part of the course looks at the basics of Ayurveda: identifying your own archetype and using it to guide diet and lifestyle choices.

The focus is on balance, learning which foods and properties help you find it.

At mealtimes, the food follows our S.L.O.W. philosophy, Seasonal, Local, Organic, Whole, built to keep you going through an active day.

Build wellness into your week

A week with us brings physical activity, mindful recovery and good food together in one place, set against the backdrop of Bali’s Bukit peninsula.

It is built to support body and mind in equal measure, with the space to step back, reset, and find a bit of balance.

Spaces on each retreat are limited to six guests, so it is worth booking ahead.
